Christmas

This was an amazing Christmas.  It was about family, and family there was!!  18 of us ascended upon Pops and Nana's house for 2 days of food, food, food, gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts, and tons of fun with family.

We started it off right.  With fried food :)  Christmas Eve dinner was chaw bread!  Pops even let me help make the dough!  Maybe one day I will get to see the secret recipe!

Did I mention there were gifts?

With 18 of us in the house, we slept anywhere we could find a spot.

A White Christmas!  In Texas!  We woke up to wonderful rain (we are in a pretty bad drought) and mid-morning it changed over to big, white, fluffy flakes of snow!  The kids were beyond excited and HAD to be out in it even though they did not have the right gear to play in sopping wet snow.

I love this.  Pops made prime rib for Christmas lunch (it was amazing!) and I snapped this pic so that I could post this:

"And the Grinch carved the roast beast"   haha :)

Oops.  Slight mishap while playing with the helicopter

This is how Texas kids water proof their shoes for playing in the snow...

December

Go Mavs!  Zach scored some awesome box seats to a Mavs game and invited us along.  What a fun way to watch a game!  Thanks, Zach!

Cousin Time

I picked up the Denton cousins and took them to Plano to hang out with the Guerry's for the day.  In classic cousin style, they had a blast :)

Alissa snoozes with a sucker

I get in trouble for letting them stay up as late as they want and eat as much junk food as they want, but Mat lets them play on the roof!!

Nana took the kids to see the trains at North Park Mall.  Pops was there, too, but he doesn't get any credit :)

Christmas Baking!

I love, love, love Christmas baking!  We made and delivered 28 bags filled with 5 different goodies this year.  So fun.  Such.a.mess...

Pete plays dog groomer.  He did a good job!

Ahhh.  So sweet!  Homework FAIL.

3rd Grade "holiday" Party!  Just kidding.  Here in Joshua we still say Christmas Party.  And we say it loud!

Papaw and Mamaw Visit!

Reese had a very hard time thinking of things she wanted for Christmas this year.  The only thing she could think of that she really wanted was "real, professional, fake nails"  :)   These are not dress code and are not allowed at school, so right after the Christmas party on the last day of school before the break, Papaw and Mamaw took her to have them done.  She has 2 weeks to enjoy them before they must come off for back to school.  So fun!!

We ventured to The Stockyards for some good 'ole chicken fried steak at the Star Cafe and then on to Casa Manana to see "The Night Before Christmas"  It was such a cute production.  We had a wonderful night out; Thanks Papaw and Mamaw!

This giant teddy bear travelled all the way from North Carolina to make it's new home in our house.  The girls LOVE it!  So soft and cuddly :)

Thanks for making the long haul to Texas.  We had a great visit!
