Back to Life

We are home, safe and sound. We were so sad to leave, but loved every minute of our trip and will cherish the memories forever. We spent all morning in the ocean before we checked out of our room at noon and headed to town for a little shopping. Everything was "almost free today!" It is so funny to haggle with those guys. I have learned to state a price and walk out of the store; they will always come and drag you back in, even if they are mad at you for paying so much less.

Here are the last of the pictures from my digital camera. I am hoping to go today and have the water cameras developed and I will post those if they turned out. We have two more fun trips before we buckle down for school, so check back for more fun in the sun.

reese feet. I guess I had a feet thing this trip.

Just another day in paradise

Not a lot to say. It has been another marvelous day. Soren and I decided to wait on the scuba dive until we can go together. If we had gone today, Soren would have had to dive while I stayed with Reese and then we would switch. We want our first dive to be together, so we will just have to come back and this time we will make Pete come with us!

We have one more day. We leave tomorrow at 5:30, and I have to say, we are not ready to come home. I am not sure how long I would have to stay before I got tired of the beach, but 5 days is not quite long enough. We are in love with this place and are so grateful for the opportunity we have had to come here and be together. It has been an experience that we will never forget.

we tried our hand at tennis today. we will not be quitting our day jobs.

refreshments in the pool. favorites for the kids are the mickey mouse, shirley temple and mai tai

have i mentioned the icecream? we eat icecream ALL DAY LONG. eat some breakfast, have some icecream, swim, have some icecream, make a sand castle, have some icecream...

took a time out for some painting today

lots of sand play today

soren made a great palm tree!
like I said; more icecream

Soaking it up

I don't think it is possible to stress here. I could not cram more into a day, which would normally cause some stress, but not here! The sun has set on another gloriously long and wonderful day in Cozumel. We spent most of our day in the ocean. Reese has completely overcome her fear of the ocean and swims all over, loving the sites of the marine life, which made her nervous when we were here in November. I have two full rolls to develop from a water-proof camera; I can't wait to see the pictures of the girls diving deep to check out the ocean floor.

Today I took my first scuba lesson! I LOVED it. I was afraid of that. See, now I will want to go on scuba trips. Life is just too short for all of the fun stuff. Soren got in and took a second turn; she loves it too. We may go out on a dive tomorrow...

Right now the girls are in the pool enjoying the dive-in movie. I will need to check them for gills when/if they ever get out of the water.

I have tried to post a video this time. I hope it works. I have a lot of great videos of the girls feeding fish and snorkeling.

Enjoy the pics! More to come, I'm sure...

learning how to make bracelets

I found Reese crashed by the pool at about 4:30. She rested for a few minutes and was ready for round 2!

water volleyball

Soren and her friend picked a coconut from a tree and asked a waiter to cut it open for them; they drank fresh juice straight from the tree!

there are the cutest little crabs crawling all over
Here is the attempted video of Reese feeding the fish. Hope it works!

Girls just wanna have fun

Oh my goodness. Was today just one day? It was a LONG, FULL day! We have been at it since 7am, non-stop. It is 10 pm and the girls are still in the pool. We are having an absolute blast. Not sure we will be returning :)

Here are some of our activities from the day...

this morning we colored our hair!

and we played miniature golf

and Soren took scuba lessons!

I cannot count how many hours we swam, ocean and pool, back and forth, back and forth...

and we played bingo during lunch with our new friend from Denver

and we had a water balloon fight in the pool

and we found this injured bird in our room when we came to change for dinner. we left our balcony door open all day and he flew in and could not find his way out. after a few minutes of being loved on by the girls he took off!

and we took a random picture of our feet in the sand

and we played "chest" as reese calls it

and at dinner we enjoyed the "International Show" They had the kids come up and play "No Way Jose"

and we did the chicken dance

and we ate desserts shaped like swans

and we watched sexy girls dance :) As they were dancing, Reese leans over and says to me "They aren't wearing anything on their bottoms!" Indeed. G-strings. Nice.

and we watched a mexican Michael Jackson
One of the best days of my summer so far, for sure! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
