wait! wait! wait!

The end of the school year is so crazy. Here is a recap of a few of the fun haps going on as we bring this school year to an end.

Sadly, I have been to my last preschool graduation. Reese is officially finished with that phase of her sweet life and is all registered for the big K in the fall.

We will miss Ms. Pam so much. If I ever have another kid I will name it Ms Pam; she is awesome!

hmmm. not quite sure. I guess Reese decided to crawl up on stage for her diploma.

Splash Bash!

Each year Soren's school has a spring cook out and water day. It is a fun tradition that the kids really look forward to.

Swim Team Pool Party

It is not often that these kids get a break. They work VERY hard (and love it for some reason?) This was a get together for us to eat, play, build friendships, discuss plans for a new pool!! and eat some more. Man, those swimmers can put away some food!

There is still a lot to come before the last official day of school. Savor each day. Soak it up. Don't miss the details. The laundry will still be there...

Mother's Tea and a Tri

Reese and I had a sweet evening hosted by her school to celebrate mothers. The kids sang songs to us, gave us precious hand made gifts and served us lots of sweets. It was such a great evening for us and I will treasure it always.

Reese and her teacher, Ms. Pam. We love Ms. Pam!

For mother's day my sweet girls gave me a new pair of bike shorts (I have one favorite pair that I wear day after day...eew) and a beautiful new jersey; so much fun, I will look great out on the road! Pete gave me the freedom to pick a race to sign up for and then suggested one in Boulder, Colorado! Cool! For a recap of the day, see http://www.theparkersblog.blogspot.com/

Tis the season...racing season! Triathlon season is officially upon us and the girls kicked it off with a race in Decatur on Saturday. For Reese it was a 25 yard swim, 1 mile bike and a half mile run; Soren did 50 yards, 3 miles and 1 mile. It was a very laid back, non-timed event that allowed kids of all ages and abilities. There were kids in the pool with floaties, tricycles on the bike course...it was adorable. Such a fun experience for the kids. Maybe I will take the time to post the video...we'll see.

Good Times

Well, unlike much of the metroplex we are still in school...bummer. But we have enjoyed a two week visit from Grandma Charlotte with lots of play time and a few sleep overs in the motor home. We finished off the visit with a trip to Canton for some shopping and tomorrow it is back to the grindstone.

On the first Sunday of each month the Burleson Runner's Club has their 5k run and we always try to make it out. Today our family had a great showing with 10 runners! Pops, Nana, Kara, Pete and Sara ran the 5k and all of the kids (Soren, Wyatt, Ashton, Reese and Parker) ran the 1k. Lots of great successes again. Pops had a PR of 30:02 (that is a 9:40/mile pace! Wow!). Nana and Kara were a couple of minutes behind him around the 32-34 minute mark. Pete also set a new PR with a 17:46 run! Nice! That is a 5:43/mile pace. I was right on my PR of 23:00 but did not break it; I was off by 2 seconds with a 23:02. The kids all earned trophies with their runs as well.

After the race we went and loaded up on some mexican food to put back all of those calories we left out on the course. Having Fun. Thanks for coming down everybody!
