April 20, 2012 Jelly Stone Park

There is a new RV park in town and Grandma brought the motor home down so that we could come play and explore all of the fun activities that they offer! What a neat park; we wore ourselves out and still did not cover all there was to do.

Thank you, Grandma, for such a fun weekend!

April 19, 2012 Main Street Arts Festival

This has become one of our most favorite traditions in the Fort Worth area.  We always try to take friends with us and generally hit the same booths each year.

This year, Riley came with Reese and Soren decided to hang out with me since Pete was out of town and could not come with us.

 Look at those filthy feet!

April 5, 2012 Reese's 2nd Grade Spring Party

In keeping with Texas law we had a "Spring Party" rather than an Easter Party at school :)

The kids still hid and hunted eggs, so changing the name of the party seems so silly, but, whatever.

It was a fun day of play with LOTS of sugar!  The kids each have to find 12 eggs but to make it a little harder for the older kids, each egg must have a number from one to twelve and they can only have one of each number.  It actually takes quite a while to do it this way.  (I think that is the teacher's goal!)

My District Champion Track Star

Track season ended as well as it started for Soren this year.  At the district meet she placed 1st in the 1600 and the 2400, 2nd in the 400 and 2nd in the pole vault.  Wow!  She also had a PR in the mile with a time of 5:49.  Congratulations on hard work paying off, Soren.  I love to watch you run!

I love this picture.  Soren seems to really value Pete's input when it comes to running.  If he is unable to make it to a meet, she will call him and ask what kind of warm up to do and get last minute tips based on the running conditions.  It is neat to see the bond it has created for them.
