just a couple of pictures from the day

Today I have been in the shade so I don't have many pictures of the kids playing. It has been an incredible day. Beautiful weather. If I was not racing tomorrow I would have soaked up the rays!

I do have lots of pictures of my pre-race stuff on my training blog http://www.imcozumel.blogspot.com/ thanks to Pops!!

Cozumel – Day 4

Today we woke up to the same ugly brown water and high winds, so we headed south to Paradise Beach where the water was still clear and enjoyed a day in the sun and waves. There were lots of fun things for the kids and good snorkeling; it was a good day.

Cozumel – Day 3

Today was sunny and absolutely gorgeous until 1pm. It has been windy all day, but it was still nice and the water was the beautiful Caribbean blue that you expect in this area. Then the winds picked up and brought in a dirty brown water and cool air. We soaked in the rays this morning and spent the windy, cool afternoon visiting with new found friends and Pops and Nana who arrived right as the weather changed. Hoping for better weather tomorrow for some more snorkeling

Cozumel – Day 1

We have arrived! After a slight delay at the airport we enjoyed a non-eventful flight and made it to our hotel around 3pm yesterday. It is dark here by 5, so we only had a couple of hours to explore but have had a full day of it today!

I have a few pictures but most are on our disposable water camera; we did a lot of swimming and snorkeling today. It is not hot here this time of year (around 80 for the high), but it is comfortable for swimming until late afternoon and then it can feel a little chilly (not that the kids noticed). It is actually kind of nice to not feel so hot and I know it will be nice for the race on Sunday!

It is so fun to have the girls here with us, but they also have Grandma, Grandpa, and have met two girls their age, so we see them here and there as they dart around the resort.

I will do all training/race updates on my training blog http://www.imcozumel.blogspot.com/

A start to Thanksgiving

Thursday was 'Morning with Mom' at school. In years past we have learned that the girls and I do not care for the breakfast served in the cafeteria, so this year we opted for our own morning with mom breakfast at Chi*k-fil-a. We were up and out the door early and enjoyed a relaxed meal together before school. It was so nice. The school takes pictures, so we took some of our own!

Later that morning, kindergarten had their Thanksgiving Feast Snack. That makes me laugh. Because of the extremely strict nutrition policies that the state of Texas has set, the feast could not be the children's lunch. They had to be taken to the cafeteria and given their regular lunch...RIGHT AFTER this snack (feast)! You can imagine how much lunch was eaten that day.

Anyway, the feast was adorable. Those kids are so awesome and we have a great group of parents that are able to come enjoy these special events.
