outings

Yea for Spring! We are loving this warm weather.

Last week I enjoyed two field trip days with my girls. Soren's GT class went to the 6th Floor Museum and learned about Kennedy. Reese's kindergarten class took a trip to the zoo. Both were great outings.

Pete and I are starting week 3 of the Lakeview Circle boot camp. Two full weeks of waking up at 4:45 am to workout with the neighbors; pretty cool. We have 6-9 people daily and we are actually enjoying ourselves! Pete is doing an awesome job of bringing something new each day which keeps it interesting. We had a cop drive by VERY slowly on Thursday when we were all in the garage doing yoga. I am sure it looked odd to see 8 adults in a garage at 5 am doing the downward dog!

This weekend was the German Fest in Muenster. Pete was on call, so the girls and I met Grandma at the festival and they played while I took in the incredible scenery on the bike rally. With the recent rain, the wild flowers were amazing. It was a great day to be out on a bike.

We are into the last 6 weeks of school with summer plans already stacking up. Soren is back on owl call, this time as the weather girl. She found out last week that she made a perfect score on both the math and reading TAKS tests! We are so happy for her successes.

Enjoy the pictures of our outings!

Pete and I met Pops and Nana on the Trinity Trail for a ride during swim team one evening. Nana was able to try out the tandem!

the coolest socks at the zoo...
check out the size of that python!
and the Cobra!

Now it is a tradition. The girls have their hair done this way when they go to the German Fest!

After the festival we headed up to Grandma's to spend the night with a stop near Lake Texoma to see the wild flowers

We walked down by the lake near the boat ramp and Reese discovered the biggest water moccasin I have ever seen! She stepped right over him on the rocks. SO SCARY!
Wow. Three snake pictures in one blog!
a little sweeter reptile, a baby toad.
