** Soren **

It is time to brag on Soren again. Last week she competed in the oral reading category of the UIL competition. This is her 3rd year to compete as well as her 3rd year to place! In 2nd and 3rd grade she did story telling which means that the judges would read a story aloud and then each participant would come in one at a time and retell the story. This year she did oral reading, so she read aloud a story and was judged on her expressiveness. She won 3rd place out of 15 finalists. All 7 elementary schools participate, so it is great to just advance to the finals. We are really proud of her!

Yesterday Soren spent the entire day finishing up her science project. This year she chose to research and experiment whether kids on her swim team have a greater vital lung capacity than non swimmers. She has had a good time working on the project and was actually surprised to find that the girls on swim team had a greater average lung capacity than the boys! Girls rule!

Last night her school choir was part of the Joshua parade of lights and then performed their Christmas concert. Soren has really enjoyed being in choir and was so excited for this concert (it is no secret that she loves to perform!). She got to be in her element and had a wonderful time.

So in true Underwood style, we are staying crazy busy but still finding time to enjoy the season.
