Today was Soren's 2nd swim meet. We left the house at 5:45 am and drove through heavy rain to Weatherford expecting the meet to be cancelled. The rain cleared at 7:30 and they went ahead and started the meet at 8:30. Soren swam the same 3 events as last week, but this meet was so small (only 4 teams) that she finished her last race at 10:00 and we came home. It was raining lightly for the last hour of the meet and the skinny little swimmers were so cold! Soren got 3rd in the 50 meter free style and 2nd in the 25 meter back stroke and again we will have to wait on the results from the 25 meter free style. We still do not have the final results or medals from the first meet (coach issues). I do not have any swimming pictures from this race because they roped off the entire pool area for swimmers only and my camera would not zoom far enough to get a decent shot. Some day I will get Pete to show me how to post a video. I have some really good ones!
Soren is enjoying the swimming a lot so we will probably put her on a real team in the fall. That will mean driving to Ft. Worth, but it will be worth it if she really wants to be a swimmer. She shows a lot of potential to be really good in the sport.
